Predikt uses a small number of first-party cookies and comparable storage mechanisms. No third-party adtech cookies, no cross-site trackers, no Facebook pixel. This page lists exactly what we set and lets you control what we do.

1. The legal frame

Our cookie practices follow the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC (as amended by 2009/136/EC) Article 5(3) — which requires user consent before storing or accessing information on a terminal, except for strictly necessary technical cookies — read with GDPR Article 7 on conditions for valid consent and Article 6(1)(a) on the lawful basis. Consent must be freely given, specific, informed, unambiguous and as easy to withdraw as to give.

2. What we set today

Strictly necessary (always on)

cote_session — server-set HTTP-only cookie carrying the authenticated session for Supabase Auth. Required for the platform to work. Lifetime: session (cleared on sign-out) up to 7 days.
cote_theme — your choice of dark or light mode (set by next-themes). Lifetime: 1 year.
cote_lang — your interface language preference (next-intl). Lifetime: 1 year.
cote_consent — records the choice you made on the consent banner. Required by law so we can prove we asked. Lifetime: 6 months.

Preferences (optional)

cote_currency_display— your preferred display currency (USD, EUR, GBP). Lifetime: 1 year. Set only if you opt in to the "Preferences" tier below.

Analytics

None at v1. We do not run Google Analytics, Plausible, Posthog, Mixpanel or any other analytics product as of this version. If and when we add a self-hosted Plausible (cookie-less by design) or equivalent, this page will be updated and the consent banner will re-prompt. We do not run third-party adtech cookies and we never will.

3. Your preferences

Use the widget below to set or update your consent. Choices are stored in the cote_consent cookie and applied across the site. You can change them at any time — your choice is honoured immediately.

Session, theme, language, consent record. The minimum required to run the site. Cannot be turned off.

Strictly necessary + preferences

Adds your currency display preference. No analytics, no third parties.

All of the above + future analytics

Reserved for the day we add a privacy-preserving self-hosted analytics tool (Plausible-style, cookie-less by default). Today this is functionally identical to the previous tier.

4. What happens without JavaScript

The preferences widget above is progressive: the underlying form submits to /cookies?set=<tier> and the server will set the cote_consent cookie via a redirect, so consent choices work even if JavaScript is off. The strictly necessary cookies are unaffected.

5. Browser-level controls

You can also manage cookies at the browser level — most browsers let you delete all cookies for predikt.markets, block cookies site-by-site, or run in private/incognito mode (no cookies persisted after the session). If you block strictly necessary cookies the platform may not work — for example, you may be unable to sign in.

6. Children

Predikt is restricted to users aged 18 and over (see Terms). We do not knowingly set cookies on devices used by minors.

7. Updates and contact

We will update this page whenever we add or remove a cookie. Material additions trigger a fresh consent prompt. Questions: privacy@predikt.markets. For details on how we treat personal data more broadly, see Privacy Policy.

Draft note (2026-05-27): Aligned with the latest CNIL and EDPB guidance on dark-pattern avoidance (refusing should be as easy as accepting; no pre-ticked boxes). Subject to formal legal review.
